5 reasons to do an internship in Barcelona

Barcelona is a big city that is popular among numerous students, travelers and tourists. This city has a lot to offer its visitors, in this blog post I will give you five reasons why you should consider doing an internship in Barcelona.

1. The beaches and mountains

Barcelona is a city that offers both beautiful beaches and some great mountain areas. The beach is easy to reach by public transportation or even by foot. Personally I love to walk alongside the beach after a day at the office. the Mountains are also very easy to reach by public transportation. If you enjoy the nature and being outside you should for sure give Barcelona a chance.

If you are not a beach person, Barcelona also has numerous beautiful parks to spend your free time and enjoy the nature. The parks are always crowded and are never boring! A lot of people come here to have their lunch or have a nice walk but you will also see a lot of people playing soccer, are running or playng other sports!

2. The climate

Barcelona is known for a very nice climate, the weather is good almost every day. The annual average temperature is around 16°C. If you are a person who loves being outside and enjoying the nature, this for sure is a big reason to take the step and come to Barcelona.

3. Cultural activities

This city offers numerous of cultural activities to do in your free time. There are multiple museums that are very interesting. Some of you may not be a fan of museums but Barcelona offers a great range of different museums so make sure to check it out because there is a big possibility that there will be something that you like! Fun fact, on Sundays a lot of museums have free entrance so that is a perfect thing to do on a nice Sunday!

Besides museums, Barcelona also offers a wide range of tourist attractions and I recommend you to try to visit as much of them as you can! some of these attractions are La Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Casa Mila, Camp Nou and a lot more.

4. Food

If you are a student like me, you don't want to spend too much time on preparing meals but you also want to eat healthy, spend not too much money and have a nice variety in your meals. If this is the case, Barcelona is perfect for you! The big supermarkets such as Carrefour and Alcampo offer a wide range of different products. If you want to spend  little less on your groceries I can recommend you to pay a visit to the Lidl they have a great assortment and are a little bit cheaper than the big supermarkets. If you have a gluten allergy this is no problem because most supermarkets have a big section with gluten free products.

Besides the supermarkets Barcelona also has a great selection of restaurants where you can find all sorts of different kitchens. If you don't like things like McDonald's and other fast food chains, don't worry. There are tons of other restaurants that offer actual good food and the prices are sometimes better as well!

Tip!
If you are a food lover just like me, I recommend you to pay a visit to the Boqueria market, this market is located on La Rambla. On this market you can find tons of different goods such as fresh and exotic fruits, fish, juices, candy, and a lot more. The prices here are really good and just walking here is a whole experience by its self.

5. Party's and going out

Last but not least the night life in Barcelona offers some great possibilities if you want to have a good night. Almost every day of the week you are able to have a great night and relax in this city. Barcelona offers some great clubs such as Pacha, Opium, Razzmatazz and more. Besides several big clubs, there are also tons of cool little bars where you can have a great time. In some bars they play live music and these bars are also a great place to watch a soccer game and enjoy a beer.
